MUSCATINE, Iowa (July 1, 2010) – Bridgestone Bandag Tire Solutions (BBTS), a
division of Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations, announced today it has increased
prices on its Bridgestone brand products. Effective July 1, 2010, Bridgestone brand
truck and bus radial tire base prices will increase up to six percent in the United
States.

R197 low rolling resistance radial for superior fuel efficiency and long, even
tread wear. The R197 is approved for use on Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
SmartWaySM-certified equipment and is ideal for fleets running California Air Resources
Board (CARB)-compliant vehicles. The new tire is suitable for all-position use but is
designed for single and tandem axle trailer and dolly applications in long haul and

NASHVILLE, Tenn (Dec. 03, 2008) – Bridgestone Firestone North American Tire, LLC (BFNT) today announced that its Bridgestone Bandag Tire Solutions (BBTS) division will lay off approximately 60 members of its workforce in response to the current weakness in global business conditions that has resulted in lower truck tire and retread demand. As part of this action, BBTS will close its St. Louis, Mo.-based Oncor retread facility. “These have been very difficult decisions to make, but our leadership team has been working diligently on the future direction of the organization,” said Saul Solomon, President, BBTS. “Although we’ve taken a number of steps to reduce expenses while enhancing quality, as we continue on our journey of building a unified, customer-focused organization, it was clear we needed to do more. Asahiko “Duke” Nishiyama will lead the new unit, which will be named Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations (BATO). Reporting into this unit will be the company’s Latin American tire operations, the U.S. and Canadian consumer tire businesses and the U.S. and Canadian commercial tire businesses. (Oct. 13, 2008) - Bridgestone Firestone North American Tire, LLC (BFNT) announced today that Singh Ahluwalia, a 32-year veteran of the Bridgestone group of companies and President of Truck and Bus Sales, Bridgestone Bandag Tire Solutions (BBTS), has elected to retire effective March 1, 2009. Ahluwalia, who will also retire from his position as member of the BFNT Board of Directors, will be succeeded by Kurt Danielson, Vice President of Marketing, BBTS. Danielson will assume Ahluwalia’s duties and move into the position of Vice President, Sales and Marketing, BBTS. To provide a smooth transition, Danielson’s appointment is effective Nov. 1. MORE >
