Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations Establishes Bridgestone Commercial Solutions Group

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (May 5, 2011) – Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations (BATO) today announced that it has realigned two of its divisions, Bridgestone Bandag Tire Solutions and Off Road Tire, U.S. & Canada Tire Sales, into one new group, Bridgestone Commercial Solutions Group. Kurt Danielson has been named President of the newly formed group and will report to Saul Solomon, Executive Vice President, Bridgestone Americas, Inc. (BSAM); and President, U.S. & Canada Commercial Tire Operations, BATO.

NASHVILLE, Tenn (Dec. 03, 2008) – Bridgestone Firestone North American Tire, LLC (BFNT) today announced that its Bridgestone Bandag Tire Solutions (BBTS) division will lay off approximately 60 members of its workforce in response to the current weakness in global business conditions that has resulted in lower truck tire and retread demand. As part of this action, BBTS will close its St. Louis, Mo.-based Oncor retread facility. “These have been very difficult decisions to make, but our leadership team has been working diligently on the future direction of the organization,” said Saul Solomon, President, BBTS. “Although we’ve taken a number of steps to reduce expenses while enhancing quality, as we continue on our journey of building a unified, customer-focused organization, it was clear we needed to do more. (Oct. 13, 2008) - Bridgestone Firestone North American Tire, LLC (BFNT) announced today that Singh Ahluwalia, a 32-year veteran of the Bridgestone group of companies and President of Truck and Bus Sales, Bridgestone Bandag Tire Solutions (BBTS), has elected to retire effective March 1, 2009. Ahluwalia, who will also retire from his position as member of the BFNT Board of Directors, will be succeeded by Kurt Danielson, Vice President of Marketing, BBTS. Danielson will assume Ahluwalia’s duties and move into the position of Vice President, Sales and Marketing, BBTS. To provide a smooth transition, Danielson’s appointment is effective Nov. 1. MORE >
