Joe's duck, Frank
Joe Mansheim and Frank (Frank's the
good-looking one) deliver building materials for
Elite Transportation Systems in the Minneapolis area.

Did you ever see a duck trucking?

Well, we did! Joe Mansheim paid $700 for what he thought was a duck-hunting dog – but “that dog didn’t hunt.” His boss quipped, “It would have been cheaper to buy the duck.”

So Joe did just that. Frank cost just a quarter. The license for Joe to own him? Five times that. And now, Frank has taken to riding “shotgun” in the cab of Joe’s flatbed.

Everywhere they go, Joe and Frank deliver not just building materials but good cheer and lots of smiles. As Joe says, “Maybe if we all had a duck in our lives, we wouldn’t get so mad at each other so much of the time.”

As America’s “trucking duck,” Frank has become something of a celebrity, and as a result, was partly responsible for reuniting Joe with some long-lost family members who saw Frank and Joe on TV. A reunion is planned and Frank will be there (but not on the
menu, of course)!
